about

a memorial song for drummer Mike Normann’s cousin, Steve Sileo, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 23 from Cystic Fibrosis. Steve was diagnosed with CF at birth and aside from having to carry the weight of a low life expectancy, he had to withstand some very agonizing symptoms and treatments. The kid was dealt a terrible hand but rarely let the disease bring him down or effect the people around him.

Steve’s Song sort of changes direction and bounces around from different narratives or perspectives (i.e. 1st/2nd/3rd Person). At the same time, like any form of art, it’s open to the listeners own interpretation. Hopefully there are parallels in the song that people can still relate to.
